PES Families,
We have received guidance from central office that student iPads are to be sent home Friday, January 23, which means your child will be bringing their iPad home tomorrow.
Your child’s iPad will be placed in their backpack powered off. Please ensure the iPad remain in the backpack unless it is needed for a Non-Traditional Instruction Day (NTID).
Please note:
The iPad must be returned on the first day we return.
Having an iPad at home is a big responsibility. Please help ensure it is not damaged, lost, or used for anything other than educational purposes.
Thank you for your support and cooperation in helping us keep these devices safe.

As we settle back into our routines after the long break, we wanted to take a moment to kindly remind families of a few important school procedures. We truly appreciate your support in helping our days run smoothly and safely for all students.
Morning Arrival
Student arrival is from 7:15–7:45 a.m., following the school bell/clock.
If you arrive and there is not an adult on duty at parent drop-off, please walk your child into the building and sign them in.
Dismissal Changes
The best way to make a dismissal change is to send a note in with your child.
If you must call, please do so before 2:15 p.m., as last-minute changes can be difficult to accommodate.
Early Check-Out
If you need to check your child out before the end of the day, we ask that this be done before 2:30 p.m.
Absences
If your child is absent and did not visit a doctor, please send a parent note to allow the absence to be excused.
Each student is allowed 10 parent notes per school year.
Thank you for partnering with us and for helping keep our school safe, organized, and running smoothly. We appreciate you!

PES Families,
We are implementing the Verkada Sign-In/Sign-Out system as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our students and staff safe. Thank you in advance for your patience as we upgrade this important safety protocol.
The system—accessed on an iPad—will guide you through each step of the process. If you are entering the building, you will be required to scan your photo ID. When picking up a student, our staff will continue to verify identification as usual.
We will begin using this system tomorrow morning for all late arrivals and all sign-ins/sign-outs. If you need any assistance, please ring the buzzer and we will be happy to help.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Please make sure your child's iPad is charged when it is returned tomorrow with the original charger. Please send it in your child's backpack in the morning and do not plan to drop off in the office.

PES Families,
We have received guidance from central office that student iPads are to be sent home before Christmas Break, which means your child will be bringing their iPad home today.
Your child’s iPad and charger will be placed in their backpack. We strongly recommend that the iPad remain in the backpack unless it is needed for a Non-Traditional Instruction Day (NTID) after the break.
Please note:
The iPad and charger must be returned on the first day we return from break.
Having an iPad at home is a big responsibility. Please help ensure it is not damaged, lost, or used for anything other than educational purposes.
It is very important that the iPad and charger stay in the backpack at all times unless needed for a NTID.
Thank you for your support and cooperation in helping us keep these devices safe.
We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎄

PES Families,
You will find attached guidance for Non-Traditional Instructional Days (NTID). When PCS is closed as a NTID, your child will have packets, which will be sent home today and/or access to Schoology online assignments. Your child will complete ONE of the options, not both. iPads will be sent home when we have prior notification of a potential storm. However, if your child doesn't have an iPad (or other device) to access Schoology, they can complete the Snow Packets!
Also attached you will find information for Technology Support and protocol for Meal Pick-up. Please read the Meal Pick-up guidance carefully. If you do not call to request a meal, there will not be one prepared for you. In addition, only PES students can receive a meal. If you have students in more than one school, you must contact each school and pick-up meals at each indivdiual school.
Please feel free to call (304-755-7561) or email (lraines@k12.wv.us) if you have any additional questions.
(Please see Schoology for the aforementioned attachments.)

Bus 232 will not travel Dupont Road.

These buses will continue to run other portions of their routes that are safe to travel, but they will not service the roads listed above.

Families who are affected by these route changes can make alternate transportation arrangements for both morning drop-off and afternoon pickup.

PES Families,
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have decided to cancel our Title 1 Christmas Around the World Family Night scheduled for Thursday, December 18th, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Between recent weather-related cancellations, our special guest from the North Pole being very busy this time of year and unable to join us, and our teachers not having enough time to complete all of the planned activities, we aren’t able to make the event happen as planned. While we’re disappointed, we appreciate your understanding and holiday cheer.
