The PCS Technology Support Hotline is available during the school day, Monday-Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Beginning 5/3/21, through the remainder of the school year, the hotline will be available Tuesday-Thursday evenings from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm by calling 304-586-4946.
Since the Program started in 2013, Backpack Buddy has shipped over 15,000 boxes of nutritional, personal care, informative, and educational items to Putnam County Students. Families may now sign-up for the free Summer 2021 Backpack Buddy Meal Box Program. Summer 'Backpack' Meal Boxes will be mailed to homes in unmarked boxes at various times throughout the summer. Deliveries will start in the middle of June and will continue until the start of the new school year. Interested applicants should complete the application form linked below for the Putnam Area Backpack Buddy. The deadline for application completion is April 26th. If you have a child who will be 5 years of age BEFORE July 1st, please stop by PES to pick-up a registration packet. We will schedule an appointment for CURBSIDE packet check and to make copies of the necessary documents (birth certificate, 2 proofs of residency, immunization records, etc.) for March 16th. If you have questions, please call the school at 304-755-7561. YOU MUST REGISTER AT YOUR HOME SCHOOL. You may not register in a school as Out-of-Zone. If you wish to complete an Out-of-Zone application for Poca Elementary, you may stop by the school to get an application; however, you MUST register at your HOME SCHOOL.
PES: Putnam Distance/WVVS Families:
There is a safety default that requires students to log in to the network about once every 6 months to activate windows. Should you have a problem, you will need to come to ANY Putnam County School and access the network using the school WIFI or Kids Connect. This can be accomplished without coming into the building. Students may be asked to "restart" once they are connected.
Putnam county Schools will be dismissing two-hours early this Friday, February 12, 2021, for PCS employees to recieve their final round of vaccinations.
PCS was able to work with the pharmacy providing the vaccines to schedule the clinic at Hurricane High School Friday afternoon.
🚨IMPORTANT PCS UPDATE🚨 ***PCS Remote Learning – Friday, January 29, 2021*** All Putnam County Schools will operate remotely on Friday, January 29, 2021 as this date has been scheduled by the West Virginia Interagency Taskforce and those providing the vaccine on-site for Putnam County School employees to receive their second COVID-19 vaccination. Although this may result in an inconvenience for families, it is reassuring to know that employees, who work with students directly, are receiving the second COVID-19 vaccination. Free school meals will continue to be provided for all PCS students. Friday pick-up times for meals are from 11:00 am-12:30 pm at each school. Families will pick-up meals at their students’ home school location, curbside while remaining in the vehicle. If transportation is a problem, families may contact their home school to request meal delivery assistance.
Feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or alone? Need to talk? Do you or does your family need emotional support during the COVID 19 pandemic? The Putnam County Schools Emotional Support Phone Line provides resource referrals for students and families experiencing emotional distress. Student support staff are available to talk, offer resources, and provide referrals to other local agencies if needed Monday thru Friday 10am to 6pm. If you are experiencing an emergency crisis, please contact the West Virginia Children’s Crisis Line at 1-800-HELP4WV (1-800-435-7498) or call 911 immediately. PES: 5 Day Meal Boxes will be available for pick-up on Friday, January 8th from 11:00 - 12:30 from Poca Middle School. If you made arrangements for delivery, boxes will be delivered on January 8th.
If you have not made arrangements for delivery, but need a 5 Day Meal Box delivered, please call 304-755-7561 by 11:00 am on Thursday January 7th.

PES: Students enrolled in PCS Virtual Learning or West Virginia School: Please contact the school at 304-755-7561 if you would like to move to In-Person learning at the semester. The date your child would begin In-Person learning would be January 26, 2021.
IPAD Users must log into Home Access every 24 hours to be able to access any websites or web-based apps such as Clever or Schoology.
To do this, tap the Home Access Icon on Ipad. A page will open stating, "Log in to browse the internet." To the left select Putnam County schools. Username is student, and Password is student. After you log in, you will be able to access Clever and Schoology.
