Good Morning!
As I am sure you are aware, PCS is operating on a 2 Hour Delay today, January 21, 2025. Please be aware that PCS has shared on social media that some bus routes may experience issues and may be unable to complete full runs on certain secondary roads. You can find the list provided on PCS social media and PCS website.
As always, if our WES families feel uncomfortable traveling the gravel, uncleared portion of the arrival loop, please take advantage of the parking spots on the baseball field side of the school. You are welcome to park and walk your children to the middle doors for arrival in adverse weather.
Have a wonderful day!
Good Morning, WES! Just a few reminders for all families.
1. Our cafeteria will be serving chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwich for lunch today. No cold lunch option will be available today from the cafeteria.
2. After school tutoring will resume today for students who normally participate in tutoring.
3. No choir rehearsals this week.
4. Our loop for arrival and dismissal by the baseball field is gravel, therefore the PCS plows are unable to clear that section of the road. Please travel with caution. If you drive your child to school and would prefer to park on the baseball field side of the school and walk them to the middle door for arrival, you are welcome to do so during adverse weather.
Thanks and have a great day!

Putnam County Schools and Winfield Elementary are committed to the safety and education of all our students. Essential to this commitment is open communication with our families and school community about potential concerns when they arise.
For this reason, I wanted to share some information regarding unsubstantiated or rumored threats circulating on a social media messaging platform.
Please rest assured that we take all threats seriously. Upon notification of reported threats, we contact law enforcement immediately to investigate any threat and its validity. The reported messages are being investigated and appear to be similar to other threats or messages being spread throughout our region. We understand that situations like this can be concerning, and we want to assure you that we are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.
Putnam County Schools will continue to work closely with local law enforcement, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and Homeland Security’s School Safety Unit to monitor any situation, should it arise, to ensure our school remains a safe place for learning.
Once again, we want to emphasize our unwavering commitment to the safety of our students and staff. We are grateful for the support and collaboration of our school communities and law enforcement agencies. Together, we will continue to work diligently to keep our schools safe and secure.
